Hi Everyone,
Back again a little later than expected but quite a bit of news this time with releases etc. We have details of a new release from Warren Bennett, a new CD from Steel Guitarist Kay Das, and some DVD releases from overseas for Cliff and The Shadows, and a little more information on the LP+CD release of "Meet with The Shadows". All quiet for a while and then everything comes at once.
Firstly some more news on Shadowmania. As we mentioned in our last Bulletin this will be the last Shadowmania so again if you haven't got tickets go! go! go!. We have also received information that Phil Kelly, who plays lead guitar with Bruce's 'Shadows' will not be appearing owing to ill health. No details yet on who will be taking his place but when we know we will circulate details. We wish Phil the best of luck with all the treatment he is currently receiving and hoping it all turns out well in the end.
While on the subject of Shadowmania, due for release at Shadowmania is the new CD from Warren Bennett - see further down for more information.
Info from Cliff's office: Confirmation there will be no DVD releases in the UK this year or a new album release, so sounds as though nothing new for Christmas apart from the foreign releases mentioned below. When I asked about Cliff's comment about touring next year I was told they couldn't confirmm this !!! so as it wasn't a definite NO and Cliff is still talking about touring Australia and New Zealand and maybe other countries next Spring, let's take it as a possible Yes which also probably means he will be appearing here in concert again towards the end of next year. If he does go into the studio next year then this will possibly mean the new album will be out to tie in with concerts.
Don't forget the Cliff calendars for 2013 which will include a special limited edition this year designed to look just like his first LP "Cliff" with the calendar inside the record sleeve (9.99 GBP) - although this looks like an LP there is no vinyl, the usual A3 (large) sized calendar again with some topless shots, (7.99 GBP), the slimline calendar, (4.99 GBP), and the 2013 Cliff Diary (4.99 GBP). Plus postage. All issued by Danilo and available to order on our shopping cart.
We have received lots of orders for Limited Edition numbered Italian import "MEETING WITH THE SHADOWS" LP + CD release due early September. As mentioned before this is a strictly limited edition so if you want a copy please order as soon as possible. This album, originally released in Italy and never available in this country, and never released on CD anywhere, will come in a double set, the LP + CD together, with the original artwork. Track details are Apache, Blue Star, Tema da 'Man of Mystery', All My Sorrows, Midnight, The Savage, The Stranger, Shadoogie, Guitar Tango, Sleepwalk, Gonzales, F.B.I, Peace Pipe, Big Boy, The Frightened City, Wonderful Land. The LP will be in Mono and the CD will be in stereo. The price for the double set is 19.99 GBP plus postage and can be ordered by email if you have an account with us, or by using the shopping cart on our web site.
Now onto details of new DVDs due in stock shortly.......
On 3rd October "HEATHCLIFF - THE SHOW" will be reissued on DVD in Australia. This is an official release and not a DVD-R. We understand it will be exactly the same format as the original which was deleted very quickly and before many people had DVD players. This will please many Cliff fans who missed out when it came round first time. We have copies on order and again we will be receiving limited stock. This can be ordered pre-release via our web site shopping cart or by email. Price is 19.99 GBP + postage. Unfortunately it won't be released in time for Shadowmania. We have been told by the DVD company this should play on all Region 2 players but not on NTSC players unless they are multi-regional players.
At last a blu ray edition of the final reunion concert at the O2. Great news for Cliff and The Shadows fans. It has taken another country to release something that many customers have been asking for......please take note Eagle Vision!!. The DVD has the title "REUNITED FOR THE VERY LAST TIME - CLIFF RICHARD AND THE SHADOWS LIVE IN LONDON". This is an official release and not a DVD-R. These are due in stock late August/Early September and again stock will be limited. Price is 20.37 GBP including import tax etc. but + postage. Orders can be placed online via our web site for dispatch on arrival.
Another couple of Official DVDs from overseas are special editions of UK releases - Cliff's "Time Machine Tour" and Cliff and The Shadows Reunion concert.
Firstly "TIME MACHINE - 50TH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT" limited edition DVD in a leather effect case, with white background and gold trim, also comes with a metal pocket pen. Runs for 166 minutes and we understand it is a double disc set. Until we can actually view this we do not know if there are any additional features. Price is 29.99 GBP + postage. Again due early September and limited copies. Orders can be placed online and details are on the web site.
Secondly due shortly is a Platinum edition of "REUNITED" Cliff and The Shadows O2 final concert. We have had copies of these before but sold out before we had a chance to list them and it has taken until now before we could import more. This comes in a hard book-style cover and contains a 24 page book containing glossy photos, tour highlights and insights into the band members. Price for this one is 27.99 GBP + postage. Again we will only have limited number of copies.
And as already mentioned a new album from Warren Bennett and as he says himself 'about bloody time!!!!. Still titled "LEFT TO MY OWN DEVICES" we mentioned this about 2-3 years ago but owing to Warren's writing and recording committments it has been delayed and delayed but now with the latest New Tricks finished (due to start showing the new series on 27th August on BBC1 TV) he has finally got it together. We will have the track listing shortly and will put it on our website ASAP. The CD is simply great and contains a great mix of Warren 'originals' and some well known covers. Certainly well worth the wait. It will be released on the 15th September, and we will have copies with us at Shadowmania. Pre-release orders can be placed by email and it should be up on our web site as soon as track details are received. For steel guitar enthusiasts we now have a new CD from Kay Das. Many may remember seeing him at Shadowmania last year when he played at the social event on the Friday evening. We stock his CDs including the new one "TRADE WINDS" and if you have purchased any of his other CDs you won't be disappointed with this one so definitely one to add to your collection. A reminder of the other titles: "Shadows on Steel", "Shadows on Steel - Encore", "Moods and Moments" and "The Plumeria Journey" - all 9.99 GBP + postage.
